Summer Reading

Summer Reading Program, age 6-15, every Wednesday, 1:00-4:30 p.m. in the lower level activity room. Parents of children that do have a library card may register by phoning the library. Parents of children that do not have a library card may register by visiting the library to get a card or add them to the parents card. Applying for a Library Card

Readers, age 6-7 meet at 1:00-2:00 p.m. for FUN activities, crafts, stories, games and PRIZES. The groups also visit the library upstairs and check out a book.

Readers, age 8-10 meet at 2:30-3:30 p.m. or FUN activities, crafts,  games and PRIZES. The groups also visit the library upstairs and check out a book.

Tweens and teens (age 11-15) meet at 4:00-4:30 p.m. to check out a book, collect prizes, and play our version of “Minute to Win It!”,  “Jeopardy”, and other super fast and fun games. They’ll win tickets worth points; tickets can then be turned in for PRIZES!

Program info and reading requirements

  •  Age 6-7, 1:00-2:00. Read 1 hour in the presence of parents or sitter, and collect 1 PRIZE! Prizes to choose from include toys, craft kits, and snacks. When 10 hours of reading is reached, a NEW BOOK is awarded!
  • Age 8-10, 2:30-3:30. Read 2 hours in the presence of parents or sitter and win 1 PRIZE! Prizes to choose from include toys, craft kits, and snacks. When 20 hours of reading is reached, a NEW BOOK is awarded!
  • Age 11-15, 4:00-4:30. When 20 hours of reading are reached, a GIFT CARD from a local business is awarded!

We also LOVE to have help for the younger groups, from teens who are 15 and up! To volunteer call the library at 970-345-6818.
