Each Wednesday, the younger summer readers meet in the basement activity room for FUN activities, crafts, stories, games and PRIZES. The groups also visit the library upstairs and check out a book.
The older group (age 11-15) meets for 30 minutes to check out a book, collect their prizes, and play our version of “Minute to Win It!”, “Jeopardy”, and other super fast and fun games. They’ll win gifts cards from their favorite Akron places!
Everyone must have a library card to check out books. To get a card, parents will need to visit the library and show proof of residence with a Colorado Drivers License (or Colorado I.D. card) showing their current Washington County address.
We love to have help for the younger groups, from teens who are 16+ ! To volunteer call the library at 970-345-6818.

Friends of the Library, that’s who!
The Library’s Annual Book and Bake Sale was a big success, thanks to the fantastic Friends of the Library, a small, diverse group of both working and retired people that unselfishly give of themselves to support and promote the library.
They are a group of folks who are flexible, who strive for the best sale, on the best days, work toward perfection and welcome help from others who share their dedication and passion for the library.
Along with the continued help and support of the Library Board, the superb community bakers, the generous donors of books etc, and of course the faithful and enthusiastic shoppers, the Friends keep our sale going strong and promote the library every chance they get!
And…..as always, the sale books etc are available all year long; all that’s missing are the cookies.
